Chapter 4 Using the TV menu
V-Chip Rating Screen
The following graphic details where items are located within the TV Ratings option with the US V-Chip
menu.
Rating Field
Lets you select
from a list of age-
based ratings you
can block or view.
US V-Chip
US V-Chip TV Ratings
You can automatically block all program ratings above a
specified age-based rating level.
1. Choose Parental Control from the Main Menu. If
parental controls have previously been locked, you
must enter your password.
2. Press the OK button or right arrow ( ) to enter the next
screen.
3. Press the up or down arrow (
4. Press the left or right arrow (

5. Press the up or down arrow (

7. U.S. TV Ratings is highlighted. Press the left or right
arrow (

8. Use the up or down arrow (

9. Press the OK button repeatedly to toggle between
View and Block.
10. Use the MENU button repeatedly to return to the Main
Menu.
Blocking Specific Content Themes
From the US V-Chip Menu, you can set sub-ratings to block specific programs based on their content.
To block program content:
1. Press the up or down arrow (

5. U.S. TV Ratings is highlighted. Press the left or right arrow (
6. Use the up, down, left and right arrows (
7. Press the OK button repeatedly to toggle between View and Block.
To view content themes after you've locked them, follow the same steps as above to unlock.
Rating Status Field
Lets you select whether the status
of the age-based rating to the left
limit is view or block.
