Take your foot off the brake, but keep the

accelerator pedal depressed.
The vehicle pulls away at maximum accelera‐
tion.
Switch on ESP

once the acceleration proce‐

dure is complete. ESP
will otherwise not be
able to stabilise the vehicle if the vehicle
starts to skid or a wheel starts to spin.
Cancelling the start-off assist
Remove your foot from the accelerator pedal.

Parking Assist PARKTRONIC
Function of Parking Assist PARKTRONIC
Parking Assist PARKTRONIC is an electronic
parking assistance system with ultrasound. It
monitors the area around your vehicle using six
sensors

in the front bumper and six sensors
in the rear bumper. Parking Assist PARKTRONIC
shows you the distance between your vehicle
and a detected obstacle visually and audibly.
Parking Assist PARKTRONIC is only an aid. It is
not a substitute for your attention to the sur‐
roundings. The responsibility for safe manoeu‐
vring and parking remains with you. Make sure
that there are no persons, animals or objects in

the manoeuvring area while manoeuvring and
parking in/exiting parking spaces.
In the standard setting, an intermittent warning
tone sounds from a distance of approximately
0.3 m to an obstacle in front and approximately
1.0 m to an obstacle behind. A continuous tone
sounds from a distance of approximately 0.2 m.
Using the Warn early setting in the multimedia
system, the warning tones for front and side
impact protection can also be set to sound at a
greater distance of approximately 1.0 m

page 210).

The Warn early setting is always active in
the rear of the vehicle.
If Parking Assist PARKTRONIC is deactivated,
Active Parking Assist is unavailable.
