Using this Guide This Administrator's Manual is your guide to using the EncoreCX system and its features, with either a digital telephone set or a standard analog telephone. It also explains how to program system settings using your digital telephone set. In describing the various system features dialing codes are given which you use with a standard analog telephone to activate the features.
EncoreCX Administrator's Manual Introducing the digital telephone sets There are three digital telephone sets: the ECX 2000 digital telephone set and ECX 1000 series digital telephone sets (ECX 1000 or ECX 1000W). All of the digital telephone sets are highly featured display telephones for use with your EncoreCX system. All feature a four-line display that contains prompts and menus with selectable options.

EncoreCX Administrator's Manual Ring Back If the extension you call is busy, use the Ring Back feature to have the extension call you back when it becomes free. If you dial for a CO line and no lines are free, use the Ring Back feature to receive a CO line as soon as one is available.

EncoreCX Administrator's Manual System Speed-Dial list You can program 500 system speed dial numbers and names. Users of the system may then access these numbers, provided they are not restricted from dialing the number because of their designated Class-of- Service. An option is provided to associate the numbers with line groups so that the numbers can be dialed over particular lines.
Note: If some numbers are entered without names, they are presented at the end of the list. From a standard analog telephone, dial one of the System Speed-Dial location codes (8001 - 8500). Note: By dialing code 8, the Scroll Up and Down Keys can be used to view all the locations in location sequence.
EncoreCX Administrator's Manual If the network sends both a name and number or a name is associated with the number then both the name and number are flashed on the digital telephone set displays while the call is ringing them. Least-Cost Routing (LCR) This is a relatively simple implementation of LCR. Up to 50 codes of five digits can be programmed. Each of these codes can be substituted with a code of up to 9 digits if a different carrier is to be selected for the dialled code.

Day Service / Night Service The "Day Service" / "Night Service" feature allows you to change the extensions which ring on incoming calls, change the Class of Service at each extension, and change the voice greeting heard by callers (if you have Voice Mail installed).

Programmable message length This is the maximum length of a message left in a Mailbox or a Greeting for a Mailbox, Auto Attendant or Courtesy service. AA Dial Time The delay allowed for a second digit to be dialed when connected to the Auto Attendant. If a second digit is not dialed before this timer expires then the call is presented to a ring group.

You access these programming options via the PROGRAM Key on the digital telephone set. · From the extension you wish to customize, press the PROGRAM Key. Accessing System Programming options System Programming options can also be programmed via a digital telephone set. However, the digital telephone set must be connected to the extension that is programmed to be the Programming extension. By default, the Programming extension is extension 20. You access all System Programming options via the PROGRAM Key on the digital telephone set connected to the programming extension.
