Detach combination brake cylinder mechanically

General safety information
Note
Before releasing spring-loaded parking brake,
secure vehicle against rolling away using chocks.
Attach a clearly visible sign onto mechanically
released spring-loaded parking brake in vehicle
interior.
Before operating the vehicle again, the spring brake
cylinders must be returned to the driving position.

Release spring-loaded parking brake pneumatically
The towing vehicle's spring-loaded parking brake can be
released using the test connections at the brake value
sensor, see chapter "External filling of compressed-air
system".

Releasing the spring brake cylinder mechanically
Note
Shortly after starting a journey, check release
screws (2) of all spring-loaded brake cylinders (1) for
drive position (3).
Check spring-loaded parking brake for proper
operation.

If the compressed-air supply is insufficient, the spring-
loaded parking brake can be released pneumatically
using an external compressed-air source or
mechanically.

The reservoir pressure must not exceed 12.5 bar.

Loosen release screw (2) with a maximum of 70 Nm.
Do not use an impact wrench. Otherwise the spring
brake cylinder could be damaged.
