Transmission emergency shift mode with manual gearshift syst...
Important safety information
Note
If you engage a gear while the engine is running, the
vehicle could suddenly start to move off out of
control. There is a risk of accident and injury!
Perform the emergency shift at the transmission only
when the vehicle is stationary, the parking brake is
applied and the engine is off.
General notes
If the pneumatic power-assisted gear shifting is
inoperative, the gears can still be shifted using the
•
Switch electronic ignition lock to position 0.
•
Apply parking brake.
•
Tilt cab if necessary, see chapter "Manual-hydraulic cab tilt system" or
"Electrohydraulic cab tilt system".
•
If a gear is engaged, shift selector lever down into neutral position (4).
•
Shifting 3rd of 4th gear:
If 5th to 8th gear was engaged, shift gate lever at top of transmission to
position (2).
•
Shift selector lever to position (3) to engage 3rd gear.
•
Shift selector lever to position (5) to engage 4th gear.
The gear is engaged if the gearshift shaft noticeably engages into the
corresponding position.
•
Shifting reverse gear:
Push gate lever at transmission forward to position (1), push past high
resistance and hold there.
•
Shift selector lever at transmission to position (3). The gear is engaged if
the selector lever noticeably engages at position (3).

Release gate lever.

Occasional gear changes while driving are also possible
using greater effort. Have the gearshift checked at a
qualified workshop.
If the power transmission from the gearshift lever to the
transmission is disrupted, you can engage 3rd, 4th or
reverse gear manually at the transmission. You can
move off in 4th gear. It is not possible to change gear
while driving. Have the gearshift checked at a qualified
workshop.
Depending on the equipment installed, the cab must be
tilted to access the selector lever.
