Ink Ribbon Cassettes

Note that in order to be able to print, you must first load an ink ribbon cassette
into the printer.
Important!
When you purchase your printer, the carriage is held stationary by packing
material. Note that you will have to remove the packing material (page 22)
before you can load an ink ribbon cassette.

To load an ink ribbon cassette into the printer

1.
Unpack an ink ribbon cassette and remove its stopper.

Insert a pen or other similar object into the hole of the ink ribbon cassette
and rotate it to remove any slack.
Important!
• Never apply excessive force when winding the ink ribbon.
• A slack ink ribbon can lead to malfunction of the printer.
Rotate in the direction noted by the arrows.
3.
Press the [ button to turn on the printer.
4.
Press the button on the top of the printer.
This causes the disc
tray to open part way.
Important!
Make sure there is nothing in front of the printer to interfere with the
movement of the disc tray.
