PLATE
The VMC1MB mounts flush with the wall stud and holds the master unit and power transformer. Position the VMC1MB at a suggested height of 4.
5 to 5.5. feet from the floor to center of the unit. As all wiring from other stations is generally terminated at the rear of the Master, the wall should
be no less than 3 inches deep. Install a timber or metal wall box enclosure to allow for adequate support of the Master station.
Important: Install Master Station in a cavity wall to allow for the wiring behind it. Do not install in a brick wall. For wall tiling around the
Master Station, ensure the Master Station is mounted either completely within or clear of tile to avoid an uneven surface.
VMC1MB (See Figure 2)
Create a template by laying the VMC1MB face down on a flat surface and draw measurements. The VMC1MB has a right, left, up and down side,
so review Figure 2 to be sure it is right side up. The screw holes will not align, otherwise.
Wood Frame - Finished
Cut out an opening in the drywall (Height 7.25" x Width 11") but do not cut right up against the wall stud leaving 5/8" clearance ensuring that there is
enough drywall overlap to cover the mounting bracket frame after its installation. (See Figure 1). Slide the VMC1MB in sideways, then straighten
it up and firmly screw into the stud so that it is flush with the front of the stud. Identify locations for the room and door stations and create a template
for those measurements.
