Monitor Display
There are two monitoring modes, alarm associated (SPOT)
mode and alarm ignore (OFF) mode, depending on the
selection for MONITOR MODE in the ALARM SETUP menu.
Typical cases are described below for each setup.
Alarm Associated Mode
• The image of the alarm-activated input is displayed on
the multi-screen monitor in a single spot mode, inter-
rupting whatever the live, playback, single or multiple
image previously displayed. When a new alarm is
received, the lately activated input image will be dis-
played.
• The camera title and "ALARM" indication on the monitor
will be alternately displayed while blinking. For example
"CH1 ALARM" when an alarm is received from CH1, will
be displayed on the monitor.
CAM1
• When a camera signal loss has occurred, the monitor
display switches to a blackout screen with the channel
number indication, for example "CH 1 LOSS".

Alarm Ignore Mode
• The images being displayed will remain even when an
alarm arises, but "ALARM" status indication will appear.
The following outputs for each channel will function or not
depending on the setting in the TRIGGER ACTION SETUP
menu.
• The following will not function when OFF is selected for
the channel.
• The following will function when REC&ALM is selected
for the channel.
• Only alarm recording will function when REC is selected
for the channel.
Alarm Recording
The recorder starts alarm recording with the preset rate and
picture quality, if applicable. See ALARM RECORDING for
details.
Alarm Buzzer
The buzzer sounds when an alarm is input, if applicable.
Alarm Log Recall and Search
The alarm events are stored in the log for later reference.

The active status and recovery status are output to the
external devices via the terminals on the rear panel.
When connected to the Ethernet, the recorder sends an e-
mail to notify the preset URL that the alarm is activated.

The activated alarm is reset respectively with any of the
inputs: manual (all) reset, auto reset, external reset, or
CH1 ALARM
pressing the [REC STOP] button.
Resetting changes the status of the recorder as follows.
CH1 LOSS
Pressing the [RESET] button on the front panel will clear all
operating alarms, and allow the blinking or lit ALARM indi-
cator to go off.
The activated alarm event is reset when the AUTO RESET
time has elapsed, or the lost video has been recovered.
The ALARM indicator changes from blinking to a steady
light.
The activated alarm event except video motion detection is
reset when the recorder receives an external reset signal
from the connected device via the REMOTE/ALARM con-
nector on the rear panel.

• The recorder stops alarm recording.
• The buzzer, if activated, stops beeping.
• The recorder outputs an alarm recovery signal from the
rear panel.
• The Alarm Out signal on the rear panel is reset.
