Releasing the Shutter

The shutter can be released using the shutter button of either
the flash power grip or camera.

Using the Remote Cable RM-CB1 (Optional)

When using the remote cable, connect it to the remote grip
cable terminal of the flash power grip.
For details, refer to the instruction manual for the RM-CB1.

Memo:
Always turn the flash power grip on before the electronic
flash.
As the flash power grip supplies the control power to the
FL-50 electronic flash, it is not necessary to load batteries
in the FL-50 electronic flash. In this case, however, the flash
charge time increases slightly and the available flash emis-
sion count decreases.

Various Operations

1.
Combined use with the High Voltage Pack HV-1
1.
Remove the protective cap from the flash power grip's ex-
ternal power connector.
• To avoid losing the removed cap, insert it into the protec-
tive cap attaching position of the HV-1.

Connect the cable from the HV-1 to the external power
connector.
3.
Turn on the equipment in the following order: HV-1, flash
power grip and FL-50.

struction manual.

Rotating the hot shoe
The hot shoe can be rotated in the directions and angles shown
in the figure on the left.

Loosen the rotation lock lever.

Rotate the hot shoe to the desired position.
• Rotating the hot shoe, allows you to take advantage of
side bounce flash photography (when the hot shoe is ori-
ented sideways) and close-up shooting with close-up flash
shooting (when the hot shoe is oriented inward).

Tighten the rotation lock lever.

Holding the flash with the left hand
• Attach the camera as shown in the figure and rotate the
hot shoe as required.
