System Update Procedure

Items Required
• Computer (running Windows)
• USB memory device (recommended: M-UF1G/2G)
• Update file (obtained from Service Net)
Do not switch the unit power off during this procedure. Doing so may result in
data corruption.
1.
Format the USB memory device using the FAT file system.
2.
Copy the update file (FA_UPA.BIN) to the root directory of the USB
memory device.
3.
Make sure the unit's power is off, then insert the USB memory device into
the USB FOR UPDATE connector.
4.
Hold down WRITE and switch on the power to the unit.
Continue to hold down the button until = Update Mode = appears.
start update. appears and the update starts.
* Never switch off the power or detach the USB memory device before =====
update finished. ===== appears. Doing so may damage the unit.
The update takes around 3 minutes.
When ===== update finished. ===== appears, the system update has
finished.
5.
Switch off the unit and detach the USB memory device.

* Obtain this from one of the following web pages, and install it on the computer
described above.

• USB memory device (recommended: M-UF1G/2G)
• SD card (#5100038316)
• MIDI cable
• Audio cables (monaural and stereo)
• Expression pedal (EV-5)
• Oscilloscope
• Speakers
• Noise meter
* Use a two-prong power cord for the noise meter.
• UA-1G
• Wav files (MI073_01_LINE.wav, MI073_02_MIC.wav,
MI073_03_GTR.wav and MI073_04_USB.wav)
* Obtain the Wav files described above via Service Net.
Preparations for Testing
1.
Make sure that the power to the unit is not switched on.
2.
Insert the USB memory device to the USB FOR UPDATE connector.
3.
Insert the SD card into the SD card slot.
4.
Adjust VOLUME to maximum.
5.
Adjust GUITAR/MIC LEVEL at the rear to MAX.
Entering the Test Mode
Hold down 5, 7, and 9 and switch on the power.
Continue to hold down the 5, 7, and 9 buttons until the 1. VERSION
CHECK (p. 20) screen appears.
Quitting the Test Mode
Switch off the power.
Skipping Test Items
SHIFT +
: This performs forced movement to the next test item.
SHIFT +
: This performs forced movement to the previous test item.
SHIFT + EXIT: A list of the test item appears.
Use
,
, or the dial to select the test item, then press ENTER to jump
to the item.
* Testing for some items cannot be accomplished correctly unless testing is
performed in sequence, starting at 1. VERSION CHECK (p. 20).
* Depending on the test item currently being executed, pressing SHIFT + EXIT
might not display the list of test items.
