Flash Code #9 - Solenoid Brake Fault

Symptoms:
All battery condition meter LEDs flash nine times, then
pause. This sequence is repeated until the fault is cleared.
Diagnosis:
The park brakes have a bad connection.
Solution:
Ensure that both freewheel levers are in drive mode. Refer
to the power chair owner's manual. Then use the following
procedure to isolate the source of the flash code:
1. Remove the seat, main shroud, and front shroud. Refer
to the power chair owner's manual.
2. Unplug connector 6a from connector 2b and connector
5a from connector 2d. See diagram 3.
3. Measure resistance across pin 1 and pin 2 on both
connectors 5a and 6a. See figure 16.
— If the multimeter indicates about 60 ohms on both
connections, then replace the power module (2) and
retest the system.
— If the multimeter indicates an open on either connection, then replace the brake that indicated an open (5 or 6) and
retest the system.

Flash Code #10 - High Battery Voltage

Symptoms:
All battery condition meter LEDs flash ten times, then pause. This sequence is repeated until the fault is cleared.
Diagnosis:
The power module (2) indicates a total battery voltage greater than 32VDC.
NOTE: Only use the supplied Pride Mobility charger to charge your mobility device's batteries. If a non-Pride char-
ger is used, the batteries may become overcharged and will not function properly.
Solution:
Use the following procedure to isolate the source of the flash code:
1. Remove the main shroud. Refer to the power chair owner's manual.
2. Plug the off-board charger (7) into the off-board charger socket (1a) and the off-board charger power cord into a
standard electrical outlet.
3. Measure voltage across connectors 3b and 3c. (If the multimeter indicates 0VDC, then measure voltage across
connectors 3a and 3d.). See figure 17.
— If the multimeter indicates less than 30VDC, then replace the power module (2) and retest the system.
— If the multimeter indicates greater than 30VDC, then replace the off-board charger (7) and retest the system.
