• Linear PCM audio is the signal recording format used for music CDs.
While the signals are recorded at 44.1 kHz/16 bit for music CDs, for DVDs they are recorded at 48 kHz/16 bit to 96 kHz/24 bit,
providing higher sound quality than music CDs.
• When "OFF" is selected, digital signals are not output from the digital audio output at this time.
(5) Connecting to a Digital Recorder (MD Recorder, DAT Deck, etc.)
Set the "AUDIO SETUP" default setting as shown below.

Playing DVDs with incorrect settings may result noise that
could damage your ears or the speakers.
• Set the "TV TYPE" in "VIDEO SETUP" in "SETUP" comply
with your TV's video format. When the TV is PAL formated,
set to PAL. (See page 22.)

NOTES:
In some cases, track numbers may not be assigned automatically when conducting digital recording onto a connected
component while playing a CD on the DVD-2800.
• When conducting digital recording onto an MD recorder, use the editing function to divide the tracks after recording is
completed.
• When conducting digital recording onto a CD recorder, set the CD recorder's recording setting to manual and assign the
track numbers (track marks) manually during recording.

Power button
• Press once to turn the power on.
• Press again to set to the "OFF" position and turn the
power off.
• Set the power to the standby mode by pressing the
POWER button on the remote control unit while the
power is on.
• Turn the power on from the standby mode by
pressing the POWER button on the remote control
unit.

Power indicator
• This indicator lights when the power is on and when
the power is in the standby mode.

HDCD indicator
• This indicator lights when playing discs recorded in
