REMOVING THE BALANCER SHAFT, CAMSHAFT,
AND VALVE LIFTER

TIP
Remove the balancer shaft "1" when the balancer shaft
gear mark "a" and the crankshaft gear mark "b" are
aligned.
2.
TIP
Remove the camshaft "2" when the camshaft gear mark
"c" and the crankshaft gear mark "d" are aligned.

CHECKING THE BALANCER SHAFT

CHECKING THE CAMSHAFT

1.
Remove:
• Balancer shaft "1"
Remove:
• Camshaft "2"
Remove:
• Intake valve lifter "1"
• Exhaust valve lifter "2"
Check:
• Balancer gear teeth
• Balancer shaft
Wear/damage  Replace.
Check:
• Camshaft
Crack/damage/wear  Replace.
