U9500 Maintenance Guide
Before performing maintenance and repair, ensure that the failure is not caused by
environmental factors or incorrect functional settings. It is recommended that you restore the
phone to the factory defaults.

9.1 Architecture Introduction

Figure 9-1 shows the architecture block diagram of U9500.

HUAWEI U9500 mobile phone is a flagship project of the year 2012. U9500 is a bar type
smartphone that supports the combination of application processor (AP) and cellular modem
(AP+MODEM). Based on the TI OMAP4 platform, two ARM Cortex-A9 1.5 GB cores, and
two LPDDR2 ports, U9500 supports dual channel with enhance performance. The phone's
hardware architecture is comprised of three parts: AP, modem, and RF unit. The OMAP4460
(AP) is a signal input/output unit that processes the image, video, connectivity signals,
providing ports to the keypad, LCD, microSD card, Bluetooth, and camera. The TWL6040 is
an audio management chip, responsible of decoding and encoding audio signals. The
XGOLD626 is a modem, providing RD interfaces. The RF engine is a RF transceiver. The
