5. Install and tighten blade bolts securing cutters to frame bar.
6. Loosen blade bolt 1/2 turn then install locknut while holding blade
bolt in place.
7. Repeat step 6 for remaining blade nuts.
SHARPENING BLADES
Level 3.
Tools required: Flat file, Screwdriver
Parts required: None
WARNING
Hedge Clipper Blades are very sharp. Wear gloves to protect
hands.
1. Disconnect spark plug wire from spark plug.
2. Remove blade stiffener (See "Blade Stiffener Remove/Install" on
page 20).
3. File each edge carefully. Follow the original shape of the blade.
IMPORTANT
If a power grinder is used DO NOT allow blade to over heat.
4. Assemble blade stiffener using new blade nuts if required. Tighten
blade bolts securing cutters to frame bar.
5. Loosen blade bolt 1/2 turn then install locknut while holding blade
bolt in place.
6. Lubricate blades. See "Blade Lubrication Instructions," on page 19.
IMPORTANT
Blades should only be removed and reinstalled by an Authorized
ECHO Servicing Dealer, otherwise premature wear or internal
damage may occur.
