Turn the emergency key element back and
X
remove it.
Make sure that the doors and the boot lid
X
are locked.
Insert the emergency key element into the
X
key.

Important safety notes

WARNING
Exhaust fumes could enter the vehicle interior
if the engine is running and the boot lid is
open. This could poison you. Therefore, you
should make sure that the boot lid is always
closed when the engine is running.
! The temperature in the boot may be high.
For this reason, do not store any tempera-
ture-sensitive objects in the boot.
! The boot lid swings upwards when
opened. Therefore, make sure that there is
sufficient clearance above the boot lid.
The boot lid can be:
opened automatically from outside
R
opened automatically from inside
R
locked separately
R
unlocked with the emergency key element
R
Opening/closing the boot
Opening and closing from outside the
vehicle
Opening
Press the F button on the key.
X
The boot lid opens slightly.
Reach into the gap and pull up the boot lid.

Closing
G WARNING
Make sure that nobody can become trapped
when closing the boot lid.
Push the boot lid down until it engages. Use
X
handle : to pull down the boot lid if nec-
essary.
If necessary, lock the vehicle with the
X
& button on the key.
Opening from inside the vehicle
You can open the tailgate from the driver's
seat when the vehicle is stationary.
