Introduction

To assemble the guide bar and saw
chain
1. Make sure that the chain brake is disengaged.
2. Fold out the knob.
3. Turn the knob counterclockwise until the clutch cover
is loose.
4. Remove the knob and the clutch cover.

5. Put the guide bar on the guide bar bolts and push it
in the direction of the drive sprocket.
6. Make sure that the edges of the cutters point forward
on the top edge of the guide bar.
7. Assemble the clutch cover and steer the chain
adjuster pin to the hole in the guide bar. Make sure
that the drive links of the chain fit correctly on the
drive sprocket. Also make sure that the saw chain is
correctly engaged in the groove in the guide bar.
8. Put the saw chain on the drive sprocket and into the
groove in the guide bar. Start on the top edge of the
guide bar.
9. Turn the chain tensioner wheel to adjust the tension
on the saw chain. The saw chain must be tight
against the guide bar.
Note:
Turn the wheel down (+) for more tension
and up (-) for less tension. The saw chain is
tightened correctly when you can turn is easily by
hand but is tight against the guide bar.
