10. THREAD TENSION

(1) Adjusting the needle thread tension
Turn thread tenson No. nut 1 clockwse (n drecton A), to shorten the thread length remanng on the needle after thread trmmng or counterclockwse (n
drecton B), to lengthen the thread length.
2) Turn thread tenson nut 2 clockwse (n drecton C) to ncrease or counterclockwse (n drecton D) to reduce the needle thread tenson.
(2) Adjusting the bobbin thread tension
) Turn tenson adjustng screw 3 clockwse (n drecton E) to ncrease or counterclockwse (n drecton F) to reduce the bobbn thread tenson.
11. WINDING THE
BOBBIN THREAD
) Insert the bobbn deep nto the bobbn wnder spndle 1 untl t wll go no further.
2) Pass the bobbin thread pulled out from the spool rested on the right side of the thread stand following the order as shown in the figure on the left. Then, wind
clockwse the end of the bobbn thread on the bobbn several tmes.
(In case of the alumnum bobbn, after wndng clockwse the end of the bobbn thread, wnd counterclockwse the thread comng from the bobbn thread tenson
several tmes to wnd the bobbn thread wth ease.)
3) Press the bobbn wnder trp latch 2 n the drecton of A and start the sewng machne. The bobbn rotates n the drecton of C and the bobbn thread s wound
up. The bobbn wnder spndle 1 automatically as soon as the winding is finished.
4) Remove the bobbn and cut the bobbn thread wth the thread cut retaner 3 .
5) When adjustng the wndng amount of the bobbn thread, loosen setscrew 4 and move bobbn wndng lever 2 to the drecton of A or B. Then tghten setscrew 4 .
To the drecton of A : Decrease
To the drecton of B : Increase
6) In case that the bobbn thread s not wound evenly on the bobbn, remove the handwheel, loosen screw 5 and adjust the heght of bobbn thread tenson 8 .
• It s the standard that the center of the bobbn s as hgh as the center of thread tenson dsk 6 .
• Adjust the poston of thread tenson dsk 6 to the drecton of D when the wndng amount of the bobbn thread on the lower part of the bobbn s excessve and
to the drecton E when the wndng amount of the bobbn thread on the upper part of the bobbn s excessve.
After the adjustment, tghten screw 5 .
7) To adjust the tenson of the bobbn wnder, turn the thread tenson nut 7 .
(Caution)
1. When winding the bobbin thread, start the winding in the state that the thread between the bobbin and thread tension disk 6 is tense.
2. When winding the bobbin thread in the state that sewing is not performed, remove the needle thread from the thread path of thread take-up and remove
the bobbin from the hook.
3. There is the possibility that the thread pulled out from the thread stand is loosened due to the influence (direction) of the wind and may be entangled in
the handwheel. Be careful of the direction of the wind.

12. PRESSER FOOT PRESSURE

WARNING :
Turn OFF the power before starting the work so as to prevent accidents caused by abrupt start of the sewing machine.
) Loosen nut 2 . As you turn presser sprng regulator 1 clockwse (n drecton A ), the presser foot pressure wll be ncreased.
2) As you turn the presser sprng regulator counter-clockwse (n drecton B ), the pressure wll be decreased.
3) After adjustment, tghten nut 2 .
The standard value of the addton C of the heght of presser sprng regulator s as follows :
• S type : 3.5 to 29 mm (Approxmately 40 to 45N/4 to 4.5kg)
• H type : 3.5 to 28 mm (Approxmately 50 to 60N/5 to 6kg)
• A type : 22 mm (Approxmately 20N/2kg)
