This section explains how to combine pages with an incoming video
signal and record the results to an output tape. You use the same steps
if you want to display the program without recording it, with the obvi-
ous exception that you do not need to control the output device.
The procedures assume your video equipment is set up as follows.
Output Device
You can, of course, omit the VCR if you intend to display the finished
program on a video monitor without recording it.
Note
Before committing a program to video tape, you should always
run completely through the program with the VCR turned off.
Watch the program play on the video monitor to make sure all
pages and titles play exactly as you expect. This is because every
subsequent time you record to a video tape the quality degrades,
if only slightly. If you have to record the program several times to
get it right, your final output quality might not be as satisfactory
as you expect.
Before you begin recording, read all of the steps in the following proce-
dure. In most cases, the structure of your Personal TitleMaker project
and the nature of your video footage determines how you should do
certain steps. Having a good understanding of what you need to do
before actually doing it goes a long way toward ensuring you get the
results you want.
