Chapter 9
Letter Spacing options increase/decrease the amount of space
between individual characters. Combining large-sized letters with com-
pact letter spacing can result in clipping — where parts of some letters
might be cut-off — and words that run together.
The top line in this example uses normal letter spacing.
EXAMPLE OF CLIPPED LETTERS
In the bottom line, letter spacing has been decreased
to the point where the words run together, and some
of the letters have been clipped.
The first option in the Boldface sub-menu displays the title in normal
(non-boldface) characters. The other option applies boldface to the
title.
Tip
For extra bold characters, apply the boldface option then apply an
outline of the same color as the letters. However, keep in mind that
this might "close" the loops in some letters, such as A, B, P , and so
forth.
Tip
Avoid mixing too many fonts, sizes, and styles on the same page.
While this might sound creative, the titles become very difficult to
read and the page looks haphazard and disorganized. Watch
most any television program and you'll see that the pros seldom
use more than two or three title styles on any given page.
