DRAM SIMM Replacement Procedure

Caution: Observe all antistatic precautions when handling sensitive electronic
equipment.

To remove and replace the DRAM SIMM on the 7H4284-49, refer to
respectively, and proceed as follows:
Removing the DRAM SIMM
Note: Prior to removing the DRAM SIMM in a 7H4284-49, you must remove the
Network Expansion Module (NEM) to gain access to the DRAM SIMM memory and
connector.
1. If there is an optional NEM installed on the main board of the 7H4284-49, proceed to step 1a.
Otherwise proceed to step 2.
a. Remove and save the two screws attaching the NEM to the front panel.
b. Lift the NEM straight up and off the two module connectors on the main PC board.
