Memory Locations and Replacement Procedures

DIMM Replacement Procedure (7G4282-49 only)

Removing the DIMM from 7G4282-49
To remove the DIMM from the 7G4282‐49, proceed as follows:
1.
If an optional NEM is installed on the main board of the 7G4282‐49, refer to Figure
page B‐4 and proceed to step 1a. Otherwise proceed to step 2.

b. Lift the NEM straight up and off the two module connectors on the main PC board.

Note: The following DIMM replacement instructions apply to the 7G4282-49 only. The DIMM is not
considered a field replaceable part on the 7G4202-72. Contact Enterasys Networks support if this
part fails and needs a replacement.
Caution: Observe all Electrostatic Discharge (ESD) precautions when handling sensitive electronic
equipment.

Note: Prior to removing the DIMM from a 7G4282-49, you must remove the network expansion
module (NEM) to gain access to the DIMM memory and connector.
Remove and save the three screws attaching the NEM to the front panel and to the 
standoff on the main PC board.
