Installing the external unit

Please note
Avoid damaging the appliance
during handling.
Never put weight on top of the
appliance.
Requirements of the installation location
Note
The unit may only be installed in areas
where temperatures below –10 °C only
ever occur briefly during the course of
the year.
We recommend that the unit is not
installed in locations higher than 1000 m
above sea level. Otherwise a drop in per-
formance is to be expected.
■ To prevent an increase in sound emis-
sions through reflection, avoid instal-
ling the external unit in recesses,
quoins or between walls.
Never position the external unit next to
bedrooms.
■ Location with good air circulation.

Please note
If the compressor in the external
unit is steeply angled, lubricant
will enter the refrigerant circuit
and damage the appliance.
Angle of tilt:
■ Max. 45° for type AWS/AWS-
AC 104 and 107
■ Max. 30° for type AWS/AWS-
AC 110 and 113
■ Freestanding on a solid substructure
to be provided on site with a minimum
height of 100 mm to enable the con-
nection of the condensate line.
For installation in difficult climatic sur-
roundings (minus temperatures,
snow, humidity), we recommend the
installation of the unit on a plinth of
approx. 200 mm height.
