WARNING
Sudden Vehicle Movement:
Shifting the selector lever without
first depressing the brake pedal is
dangerous. The vehicle could move
suddenly and cause an accident.
Make sure the brake pedal is applied
before shifting the selector.
3. With the engine still idling, wipe off
the dipstick handle, pull out the dip-
stick, wipe it clean, and put it back,
making sure it is fully seated in the
filler tube.
4. Pull it out again. At normal operating
temperature, the level should be
within the crosshatched area on the
dipstick. If the vehicle has not been
driven and the fluid is not at normal
operating temperature, the fluid level
should be between the two holes on
the dipstick.
Maintenance
5. If necessary, add fluid in .25L (1/2
pint) increments through the filler
tube until the level is correct.
6. If an overfill occurs, excess fluid
should be removed by a qualified
technician.
CAUTION
An overfill condition of transmission
fluid may cause shift and/or engage-
ment concerns and/or possible dam-
age. Don't overfill.
