Setting up a new belt

Mount the satellite shaft plates
1. Fit on the plates, aligning the screw
holes:
• The three bottom bearing plates.
• And on top, the three bottom bearing
cover plates.
2. Fit in the four bolts with washers for
each satellite shaft plate assembly.
• If necessary, use a large screw driver to
help align the bolt with the hole.
3. Tighten the four satellite shaft plate
bolts evenly with a 21mm socket.
Fit in the exterior bolts
4. Fit in all the exterior bolts except for the
one next to the belt tensioner (5a).
TIGHTEN THE BELT
5. Reach in with a 16mm spanner through
the belt tensioning service hole.
(a) The last exterior bolt (leave out).
6. Adjust belt tension by the following
means:
(b) Turning the belt tensioning nut.
(c) The edge of the belt tensioning frame
(illustrated with a horizontal dotted
line) should normally just reach the
rounding of the slot.
• To evenly distribute belt tension
over all pulleys: rotate the belt a
little bit clockwise and counter-
clockwise, while tightening.
