Fresh Air Tempering
• Used in applications with high outside air requirements
• Controller energizes the first stage heat as needed to
maintain a minimum supply air temperature for comfort,
regardless of the thermostat demand
• When ordered as a factory option, sensor ships with the
unit for field installation
Smoke Detector
• Photoelectric type
• Installed in supply air section, return air section or both
sections
• Available with power board and single sensor (supply
or return) or power board and two sensors (supply and

• Economizer operation is set and controlled by the
Prodigy unit controller
®
• Simple plug-in connections from economizer to unit
controller for easy installation
NOTE - Optional sensors may be used instead of unit
sensors to determine whether outdoor air is
suitable for free cooling. See Options/Accessories
table.

• Outdoor Air Hood with mist elimination is included when
economizer is factory installed and is furnished with
economizer when ordered for field installation

Differential Sensible Control
• Factory setting
• Uses outdoor air and return air sensors that are
furnished with the unit
• The Prodigy unit controller compares outdoor air
®
temperature with return air
• When the outdoor air is below the configured setpoint
and cooler than return air, the controller activates the
economizer
NOTE - Differential Sensible Control can be configured
in the field to provide Offset Differential Sensible
Control or Single Sensible Control.
In Offset Differential Sensible Control mode, the
economizer is enabled if the temperature differential
(offset) between outdoor air and return air reaches
the configured setpoint.
In Single Sensible Control mode, the economizer is
enabled when outdoor air temperature falls below the
configured setpoint.
Global Control
• The unit controller communicates with a DDC system
with one global sensor (enthalpy or sensible)
• Determines whether outside air is suitable for free
cooling on all units connected to the control system
• Sensor must be field provided
