Trunk Configuration Menu

Press L (command) on the Advanced Switch Configuration menu, and then you can
see Trunk Configuration Menu as Figure 4-9. You can configure a trunking on this
screen.

Screen Description
System Priority
This means the priority level of this device which is necessary for configuring
trunking on the network using LACP. The lower a numerical value is, the higher
priority level becomes. The factory default settings is set to 1.
ID
Displays the group number of trunking.
Mode
Displays the operation mode of trunking.
Active
Passive
Manual
Member Port
Displays the port belonging to trunking group.

Note: If a trunking mode is Passive between switches, a loop occurs without perform-
ing the LACP negotiation. Be sure to configure Active for one side of the configura-
tions when configuring a trunking with the LACP.

Active mode transmits LACP packets from this device, and config-
ures trunking by performing the negotiation with the opponent
side. The mode of the opponent side needs to be either Active or
Passive.
Passive mode does not transmit LACP packets from this device,
and configures trunking by performing the negotiation when
receiving LACP packets from the opponent side. The mode of the
opponent side must be Active.
Manual does not use LACP packets, and configures trunking force-
fully. The opponent side needs to configure, similarly.
