  • Page 30: Caller Display And Call Waiting

    Display or Call Waiting Service. A quarterly fee is payable. For more information on BT’s Calling Features, call BT free on If you subscribe to a Caller Display Service you can see your caller’s number (provided it is not withheld) on your handset display, as well as the time and date of their call.

    Setting up and personalising your answering machine Your BT Freelance XA 3000 can digitally record up to 12 minutes of messages, with each message lasting a maximum of 3 minutes. As well as recording incoming messages, you can record memos for other users.
  • Page 35 Answer delay sets the number of times your BT Freelance XA 3000 will ring before the answer machine picks up your call and starts playing the outgoing message. The default setting is for the answering machine to answer after 6 rings.

    Using the BT Freelance XA 3000 answering machine via the handset You can use your BT Freelance XA 3000 for a variety of functions: to listen to your messages; delete, skip forward or backward; record a memo or new outgoing message, and to screen incoming calls.

    Remote access You can turn your BT Freelance XA 3000 answering machine on and off and listen to your messages from any Touchtone telephone. To protect your privacy, messages can only be accessed by entering a 3-digit security code. The pre-set code is 000 and can be changed.

The Time saver feature is useful if you are out and want to ring in and check if you have received any new messages.

    Using BT Freelance XA 3000 additional handsets and bases Up to 5 handsets can be registered and operated from any one BT Freelance XA 3000 base. This allows you to make internal calls between two handsets while a third is making an external call.
