Hood Installation

CAUTION
Before installing, turn power OFF at the service panel.
Lock service panel to prevent power from being
turned ON accidentally.
Ceiling cutout
IMPORTANT: A minimum 10" (254 mm) opening in the
ceiling is required to accommodate the ductwork
necessary for proper ventilation.
1. Ensure that no cables or pipes will become damaged
(e.g. electric, gas, water).
2. On the ceiling, mark the center line of the appliance.
3. Mark the center line for the location of the four (4)
mounting holes using dimensions shown in the
illustration below. The holes must be drilled into a
structure capable to support a minimum 150 lb. load.
Tip: Use the frame as a template to mark the
mounting support locations.

4. Use a 1¼'' drill bit to create a hole for the electrical
power supply. Depending on the ceiling height,
ensure the required minimum power cord length.
5. Mount the support frame to the ceiling by drilling in
(4) 5/8'' (16 mm) screws with washers into the tap
holes. Ensure that the power supply for the island
hood is routed inside the bracket.
Preparing the island hood support frame
Determine the total height of the support frame.
A – 5¼'' = Support Frame Height

1. Measure the distance from the cooking surface to the
ceiling ("A", Figure).

2. Add together 5¼'' (133 mm) to the desired height
from the cook surface ("C", Figure).
"C" must be at a 30" (762 mm) minimum to a 40"
(1,016 mm) maximum above the cooking surface.
3. Subtract the number determined in Step 2 from the
number in Step 1 to determine "B".
