Installing the Hairpin Cotter

Procedure
Unused height–of–cut spacers may be stored on posts and
retained by a hairpin cotter.
Note: Make sure there is at least one spacer used on each
height–of–cut post.
1. Remove the existing rear hairpin cotter pins from the
rear height–of–cut posts.
2. Install a spacer onto both rear height–of–cut posts and
install the hairpin cotter pins.

3. On the opposite side of the muffler, install unused
spacers onto front and rear height–of–cut pins and insert
the hairpin cotter pins (Fig. 13).

Operation
Note: Determine the left and right sides of the machine
from the normal operating position.
