The amount of loss (of quality) is dependent upon the sampling rate
of the output and the bitrate of the output. The higher the sampling and
bitrates of each of these parameters, the better the quality of the sound.

Memory And Audio Quality

The MP3 memory size and MP3 quality are related. The higher the
quality required, the higher the bitrate needed. This leads to more data
storage and memory requirements. The amount of memory required
for the Creative D.A.P player II MG is proportional to audio playback
time.
Set your encoding bitrate at 128 kbps (see Figure A-1) for
optimal quality when you create MP3 files from audio CDs
using Creative Digital Audio Center.
