Use a gauge to check the air pressure. Adjust if
needed. Also look for signs of damage or
excessive wear (page 153).
Check for damage or looseness (page 160).
Check the wheels to see that the axle nuts are
tightened. Use a wrench to make sure all
accessible nuts, bolts, and fasteners are tight.
Check for, and remove, any dirt, vegetation or
other debris that could be a fire hazard or
interfere with the proper operation of the
vehicle.
Check for deposits in the drain tube. If
necessary, clean the tube (page 125) and check
the air cleaner housing.

cable.
Check the cable housings for wear. Check the
fittings for looseness. Replace or tighten as
needed.
Make sure the headlight, brakelight and taillight
are working properly.
Make sure you do not exceed the load limits
(page 51).
Check that all cargo is secure.
