Remove and Clean the Burner Orifice

Clean the burner and the burner orifice annually. To clean the
burner orifice:
1. Close the valve at the vehicle propane gas tank(s).
2. Push and turn the gas control to the OFF (
3. Open the lower intake vent.
4. Remove the burner box cover [165] by removing one (1) screw.

To avoid possible propane gas leaks,

always use two (2)wrenches to loosen and
ATTENTION
tighten the gas supply line at the 3/8 inch
male flare fitting.
5. Remove the flare nut from the orifice assembly [1].
6. Remove the orifice assembly from the burner [2].
When cleaning, do not try to remove

the orifice [3] from the orifice adapter
ATTENTION
[4]. Removal will damage the orifice and
can cause a propane gas leak. Leaking
propane gas can ignite or explode and
result in dangerous personal injury or
death. Do not clean the orifice with a pin
or other objects.
7. Clean the orifice assembly with air pressure and alcohol only.
Using a wrench, assemble the orifice assembly to the burner.
Assemble the flare nut to the orifice assembly. Examine all of
the gas connections for leaks.

Selector Switch

The mode selector switch [207] changes the energy source of the
refrigerator between propane gas (
DC electric (
) and also shuts down the refrigerator at the OFF
(
) position. The mode selector is a manually operated switch
and does not automatically change the operating mode of the
refrigerator.
■ AC Operation
When operating the refrigerator in AC electric mode, the AC
power indicator [310] illuminates and the AC thermostat [293]
controls the temperature setting and also shuts down the refrig-
erator at the OFF (
■ DC Operation
When operating the refrigerator in DC electric mode, the DC
power indicator [311] illuminates.
■ Gas Operation
■ The flame meter [217] shows if a flame is present in the
burner.
■ The piezo igniter [216] makes a spark which ignites the
flame in the burner.
■ When operating the refrigerator in propane gas mode, the
gas control [294] controls the temperature setting and also
shuts down the refrigerator at the OFF (
On fan equipped models, the fan is controlled by a thermostat and
will only operate intermittently when the ambient temperature is
above 100°F (38°C).
The current draw of the fan is 0.24 Amps at 12VDC.
