Troubleshooting

This section explains problems that may occur during operation of the
Leica DVM5000, along with their corrective actions. Refer to this section
before sending the Leica DVM5000 for repair. If the problem still occurs,
contact your Leica Microsystems representative.
When Power is Turned ON
Problem
POWER LED does not light up.
Monitor is blank.
External monitor is blank.
Monitor image is not clear.
Mouse cursor does not move.
Camera images do not appear on the screen.
Light source does not light up.
Fan does not rotate.
During Observation
Problem
Image is not displayed correctly.
Not possible to adjust focus.
Does not accept signals from external
remote terminal.
Focus level is not displayed on the
focus indicator.
Leica DVM-series
Cause and Action
• The power cable is not connected correctly.
• The supply voltage (AC100V±10%) has dropped.
• The camera cable is not connected properly.
• The power to the monitor is not ON.
• The monitor is faulty.
• The RGB cable is not connected correctly.
• The resolution set is not correct.
• The camera cable is not connected properly.
• There is electrical noise entering from the power supply or cables.
• The RGB cable is not connected correctly.
• The mouse cable is not connected correctly.
• The camera cable is not connected properly.
• The lens iris is opened or closed too far.
• The fiber cable is not connected to the lens correctly.
• The camera's shutter speed is inappropriate.
• Light source's brightness is inappropriate.
• The metal halide lamp is blown.
• The metal halide lamp is not inserted into the socket firmly.
• The LIGHT control is set to MIN.
• Contact your Leica Microsystems representative.
Cause and Action
• The lens is not attached correctly.
• The lens iris is opened or closed too far.
• The lens focus is not adjusted.
• The fiber cable is not connected to the lens correctly.
• The camera's shutter speed is inappropriate.
• Light source's brightness is inappropriate.
• White balance has not been adjusted.
• The setting distance is not suitable for the lens used.
• The stand height is adjusted too quickly.
• The cable is not connected correctly.
• The cable has wire-breakage.
• The shutter speed is not set to 1/15 or lower.
