Removing Old Trimming Line and Obstructions
1. When the trimming line runs out, the last piece should automatically eject from the cutting head. If
it does not, pull the remaining line out of the cutting head.
2. If the line will not come out or the cutting head is otherwise obstructed:
a. Insert a flat-head screwdriver into the notch on the tab (Fig. 25).
b. Gently tilt the screwdriver up and hold it in place (Fig. 25).
c. While holding the screwdriver in place, gently twist the screwdriver to unlock the tab from the
tab slot (Fig. 25).
d. Remove the spool cover (Fig. 26). DO NOT remove the spring from the cutting head base (Fig. 26).
e. Push the bump knob through the spool cover (Fig. 26). If the eyelets come off, reinsert the
eyelets on the spool cover.
NOTE: DO NOT separate the bump knob from the inner reel (Fig. 26).

Remove any old trimming line and/or obstructions.
g. Use a clean cloth to clean the inner reel, cutting head base and spool cover (Fig. 26).
h. Insert the bump knob and inner reel into the spool cover (Fig. 26).

Align the tabs on the spool cover with the tab slots on the cutting head base (Fig. 26). Push the
spool cover onto the cutting head base until the tabs securely snap into place.
