• To turn off individual Direct Connect notifications, change the Silence Direct Connect Call Alerts, Silence Direct Connect,
Silence Talkgroup, or Silence Group Connect fields to Yes.
5. Press the Menu key.
6. Click Save.
Callers receive a notification that you are not available to receive Direct Connect calls.

Make a Direct Connect call

1. On the Home screen or in the phone application, perform one of the following actions:
• Type a Direct Connect® number in the format <AreaID>*<NetworkID>*<MemberID>. Press the Direct Connect key.
• Type part of a contact name. Highlight a contact name or Direct Connect number. Press the Direct Connect key.
2. Perform any of the following actions:
• To speak to your contact, hold the Direct Connect key. Wait for the sound before you speak.
• To listen to your contact, release the Direct Connect key.
To end the call, press the End key. If you wait for a short period of time, the call should end automatically.

1. In contacts, highlight a Group Connect call list.
2. Press the Direct Connect® key.

About Group Connect calls and Talkgroup calls
If you want to communicate with multiple Direct Connect® contacts, you can make a group call using Group Connect® or by making a

Talkgroup call. A Group Connect call includes up to 20 Direct Connect contacts that you specify in a Group Connect call list that you
create. Your wireless service provider must support Group Connect calls. A Talkgroup call is a group call between members of a group that
your wireless service provider creates and that you join. To make or receive a Talkgroup call, your wireless service provider must support
Talkgroup calls, and you must be a member of the Talkgroup. You must join the Talkgroup before you can speak to the group. You can only
join one Talkgroup at a time.
All members of the group call can speak or listen during the call, but only one member can speak at a time.
Join a Talkgroup
1.
In the phone application, type # followed by the number of the Talkgroup
