To insert the battery

1. Insert the battery so that its metal connectors align with the
connectors in the handheld. After you insert the battery, your
handheld should start.
2. Replace the battery cover and verify that it locks into place.
Note: If your SIM card is locked, after inserting the battery, verify that
the USB cable is plugged into an available USB port on your computer
and that the other end of the cable is securely connected to your
handheld. After the handheld initialization process, a dialog box
prompts you to type a SIM card PIN code. Type your code. SIM card
security is disabled. You are not prompted to type your PIN code again.
If an incorrect PIN code is typed three times, your SIM card no longer
functions. To use your handheld, you must type the personal unblock
key (PUK) for your SIM card. Contact Nextel Customer Care for more
information.
3. Confirm the date and time on your handheld. If it is incorrect,
click Edit. Refer to "Setting the date and time" on page 58 for

more information.

To remove the battery

1. Unlock the battery cover by pressing the locking tab.
