Getting started
Note: If you insert a SIM card from a cellular phone, you might not be
able to send and receive email messages or browse web pages. Contact
Nextel Customer Care to determine if your SIM card has been
provisioned with the appropriate service plan.
If you remove your SIM card, verify that your handheld is turned off and
that it is not connected to the USB cable.

Inserting the battery

Before you insert the battery, verify that the SIM card holder is
locked into place.
Warning: Only use a battery that has been approved by Research In
Motion Limited. The use of another battery might present a risk of fire or
explosion, or it might damage the handheld.
Note: If you inserted a locked SIM card, you must install the desktop
software before you insert the battery. Refer to "Installing the desktop
software" on page 38 for more information.
