• Hand-tighten axle clamp
screws 7 on left and right
• Remove front-wheel stand or
support from under the
motorcycle
Before tightening axle bolt 6,
axle clamp screws 7 and brake
caliper screws 4 the support
must be removed from under
the motorcycle.
• Compress the front forks
firmly several times
• Tighten axle bolt 6 to the
specified tightening torque
(insert a screwdriver through
hole A in quick-release axle 8
and prevent it from turning)
• Tighten axle clamp screws 7
on left and right to their spec-
ified torque
Installing the front wheel
Always have the tightening
torques checked by a BMW-
certified workshop,
preferably an authorized BMW
motorcycle retailer.

Axle screw 6.................. 30 Nm
Axle clamp
screws 7 ....................... 22 Nm
