Upgrade Dell EMC Networking N3000E-ON Switches
Upgrade mixed stack of N3000E-ON series and N3132PX-ON switches (Advanced)
To upgrade a mixed stack of N3000E-ON series and N3132PX-ON switches from 6.x.x.x to 6.5.3.36 version or later
uses the procedure below. An annotated upgrade example is shown following this section.
1. Back up your configuration from mixed stack.
2. Upgrade using telnet or SSH require default enable authentication method or enable password in current
configuration. If not configured, follow steps below to configure an enable password:
console#configure
console(config)#enable password <password>
console(config)#exit
console#copy running-config startup-config
3. Download the 6.5.3.36 firmware image (N3000N3100Advv6.5.3.36.itb) to the mixed stack
4. Activate 6.5.3.36 firmware.
5. Reload the mixed stack.
6. Verify the firmware version on stack of N3000E-ON series and N3132PX-ON switches via show switch
and show version command output.

To upgrade a mixed stack of N3132PX-ON and N3000 series switches from 6.x.x.x to 6.5.3.6 version or later uses
the procedure below. An annotated upgrade example is shown following this section.
1. Back up your configuration from mixed stack.
2. Upgrade using telnet or SSH require default enable authentication method or enable password in current
configuration. If not configured, follow steps below to configure an enable password:
console#configure
console(config)#enable password <password>
console(config)#exit
console#copy running-config startup-config
3. Download the 6.5.3.6 firmware image (N3000N3100AdvLitev6.5.3.6.itb) to the mixed stack
4. Activate 6.5.3.6 firmware.
5. Reload the mixed stack.
6. Verify the firmware version on stack of N3132PX-ON and N3000 Series switches via show switch and
show version command output.
