insert jams. Be prepared for high reaction torque that
can cause kickback.
Before lay down the tool, make sure that all moving
parts have stopped.
Avoid frequent stalling when screwing or drilling, as
this could damage the battery.
UNPACKING
When unpacking, check to make sure that all
components are included. Refer to the drawings on this
manual. If any parts are missing or broken, please call
an IVT assistance center.
CHANGING THE BIT [F1]
Set the rotational direction switch (2) to its centre
position whenever you carry out any work (for example
changing the bit, maintenance work, etc.) on the tool.
The cordless tool is fitted with a keyless drill chuck
(8) with an automatic spindle stop.
Open the keyless drill chuck (8). The chuck
opening must be large enough to hold the tool (drill bit
or screwdriver bit).
Select the suitable tool. Push the tool as far as
possible into the chuck opening.
Tighten the keyless drill chuck (8) and then check
that the tool is secure.
Screwdriving
We recommend using self-centering screws designed
for reliable working. Be sure to use a bit that matches
the screw in shape and size. Set the torque, as
described elsewhere in these operating instructions, to
suit the size of screw.
CHARGING PROCEDURE [F2]
CAUTION! Recharge the battery pack
(4) only with the battery charger (5)
recommended by the manufacturer. A
charging unit that is suitable for one
type of battery pack (4) may create risk
of fire when used with another battery
pack (4). The use of not recommended
attachments or not recommended
charging units may result in a risk of
fire, electric shock, or injury to people.
ATTENTION! Be alert for battery
pack (4) that is nearing their end
of life. If you notice decreased tool
performance or significantly shorter
running time between charges then
it is time to replace the battery pack
(4). Failure to do so can cause the tool
to operate improperly or damage the
battery charger (5).
MOUNTING BATTERY PACK (4) [F3]
To install battery pack (4), align battery pack (4)
and slide it into the tool until it locks into position. Do
not force.
To remove battery pack (4), press the battery
release button (7) and slide battery pack (4) out of the
tool.
TORQUE ADJUSTMENT [F4]
The tool has a step torque control (1), in order to avoid
to damage screw-heads or bits.
Always select the appropriate torque setting for the
work. The correct torque depends on the type and
hardness of the material, on the type and length of
screws, on specific working requirements.
ATTENTION! The tool must be at a
standstill when you set the torque.
For screwdriving purposes, turning the torque
control (1) from minimum (easily-to-turn screws) to the
maximum available torque setting (hard-to-turn screws).
If the torque adjustment setting is not suitable for the
screw, continue adjusting until the proper torque is
obtained.
For drilling purposes, turn the torque control (1) on
the drilling step. At this setting the slip clutch is inactive
and the torque is maximum.
SWITCHING ON / OFF [F5]
Switching On
Press On / Off switch (3)
Switching Off
Release On / Off switch (3).
