NOTE: Lockwashers and nuts are used with all
screws when mounting parts, unless otherwise
stated in the Assembly steps. Therefore the steps
will callout only the type and size of the hard-
ware to be used. For example, the phrase, "Use
6-32 x 1/4". hardware," means to use a 6-32 x
1/4" screw, #6 lockwasher, and a 6-32 nut.
Refer to the mounting details for proper install-
ation of hardware.

( ) Refer to Detail 3-1A and check the front
edges of the chassis to be sure they are in
perfect alignment by placing the edge of a
ruler or
other'
straight edge along the sur-
face as shown. Straighten the front flange by
carefully bending it as required.
NOTE: Because of the mechanical operation of
the dial mechanism used in this kit, it is very
important that the front edges of the chassis be
in perfect alignment. This is checked at the
factory. However, if the kit receives rough hand-
ling in shipment, this alignment may be changed.
Check the alignment of the front edges of the
chassis with a ruler or other straight edge
as directed in the following step. Use care in
handling the chassis throughout the assembly
of the kit.
Refer to Pictorial 3-1 for the following steps.
