Procedure 3: Attaching cables to the Ethernet base module
If required, connect the Ethernet port. Select either the RJ45 port or the

RJ15 port. Do not connect both ports at the same time.
If required, connect the management port using an RJ45 cable (page 3-4).

Notes: • In DCE mode, the management port supplies the DTE with both transmit

Note: The connections made in this procedure will depend on the specific site
requirements. If you are not sure of the exact connections required for the
Passport 4400 unit, consult your system administrator.

In DTE mode, clocking is provided externally by Passport switch for both
transmit and receive. Default clocking speed in 192 kbps.
