If your meter repeatedly displays unusual test results or error messages, here are some things you can
check:
Troubleshooting Checks
1. Did you follow all of the testing instructions?
2. Did you wash your hands with warm water
and soap? Did you dry your hands thoroughly?
3. Did you wait for the flashing test strip symbol
and drop symbol before you touched the test
strip to the blood drop?
4. Did you bend the test strip either before or
while touching it to the blood drop or while the
test was in progress?
5. Did you apply a freshly formed blood drop?

Read Chapter 3, "Testing Your Blood Glucose" and test

Dirty or wet hands could affect results. Wash your
hands with warm water and soap and dry thoroughly.
Then test again.
Repeat the test with a fresh blood drop. Wait for the
test strip symbol and drop symbol to flash in the
display before you touch the test strip to the blood
drop.
Repeat the test with a fresh blood drop. Do not bend
the test strip at either time.
Repeat the test with a new, freshly obtained blood
drop.
