10) 6-PIN MICROPHONE PLUG
This plug is situated on the front panel, thereby making it easier to set
the equipment into the dashboard. See the cabling diagram on page
51.
11) PTT (push to talk)
Press this knob to transmit a message and release to listen to an in-
coming communication.
TOT (Time Out Timer)
If the PTT key (11) is pressed for more than 5 minutes, CHANNEL and
start blinking, the transmission ends.

C) FUNCTIONS TURNING ON THE UNIT
4 additional functions are available when the station is switched on.
ROGER BEEP, KEY BEEP, COLOR of the display and the SELECTION OF
THE FREQUENCY BAND. The procedure is always the same: turn off your
radio if it is on; hold down the indicated key while turning on your radio
again.
1) ROGER BEEP
(s or UP)
The Roger Beep sounds when the PTT switch (11) on the microphone is
released in order to let your correspondent speak. Historically as trans-
ceiver is a "simplex" communication mode, it is not possible to speak
and to listen at the same time (as it is the case with a telephone). Once
someone had finished talking, he said "Roger" in order to prevent his
correspondent that it was his turn to talk. The word "Roger" has been
replaced by a significant beep. There comes "Roger beep" from.
1. Turn on the unit while pressing the front panel key s or the microphone
UP key (4). rg and the current status of the function, On or Of, appear
on the display.
2. Repeat step 1 until the display shows the desired state.
2) KEY BEEP
(t ou DN)
A beep sounds when you press a key, change the channel, etc.

3) COLOR
(AM/FM)
Allows you to change the display color of the LCD screen.
1. Turn on the unit while pressing the AM/FM key (9). The symbol (
or ) corresponding to the current color flashes on the display.
2. Use the s/t keys on the front panel or UP and DN on the microphone
to select the desired color.
3. Long press the AM/FM key (9) to validate the selected color.
4) F - FREQUENCY BAND SELECTION
(Configuration: EU ; PL ; d ; EC ; U ; In)
The frequency bands must be chosen according to the country where
you are going to operate. Do not use another configuration. Some
countries require user's licence.

How to proceed:
- Switch off the transceiver
- Turn on the power while pressing the F (5) key. «F» and the letter cor-
responding to the configuration are blinking.
- In order to change the configuration, use the s/t keys on the front
panel or UP and DN on the microphone.
When the configuration is selected, press on the F (5) key during 1 s.

«F» and the letter corresponding to the configuration are continuously
displayed. At this stage, confirm the selection by switching off then
switching on again the transceiver.
