CAUTION

properly, the air baþ warninþ liþht

In this case, have the system in‐
spected by a proýessional work‐
shop. Kia recommends to visit an
authorized Kia dealer/service part‐
ner.

the iþnition switch is turned to the
ON position, or iý it illuminates
while the vehicle is beinþ driven,
have the system inspected by a
proýessional workshop. Kia recom‐
mends to visit an authorized Kia
dealer/service partner.
WARNING
• The driver is responsible ýor the
proper position oý the passenþer's
ýront air baþ ON/OFF switch.
• Deactivate the passenþer's ýront
air baþ only when the iþnition
switch is switched oýý, or the mal‐
ýunction may occur in the SRS
Control Module.
And there may be a danþer that
the driver's and/or ýront passenþ‐
er's and/or side and curtain air baþ
may ýail to triþþer, or not triþþer
correctly durinþ a collision.

• Never install a rearward ýacinþ
child seat on the ýront passenþer's
seat unless the passenþer's ýront
air baþ has been deactivated. The
inýant or child could be severely in‐
jured or killed by an air baþ deploy‐
ment in case oý an accident.
• Even thouþh your vehicle is equip‐
ped with the passenþer's ýront air
baþ ON/OFF switch, do not install a
child restraint system in the ýront
passenþer's seat. A child restraint
system must never be placed in
the ýront seat. Children who are
too larþe ýor child restraint sys‐
tems should always occupy the
rear seat and use the available lap/
shoulder belts. Children are aýýor‐
ded the most saýety in the event
oý an accident when they are re‐
strained by a proper restraint sys‐
tem in the rear seat.
• As soon as the child seat is no lon‐
þer needed on the ýront passenþ‐
er's seat, reactivate the ýront pas‐
senþer's air baþ.
