• Workinþ under the hood with the
enþine runninþ is danþerous. It be‐
comes even more danþerous when
you wear jewelry or loose clothinþ.
These can become entanþled in
movinþ parts and result in injury.
Thereýore, iý you must run the en‐
þine while workinþ under the hood,
make certain that you remove all
jewelry (especially rinþs, bracelets,
watches, and necklaces) and all
neckties, scarves, and similar loose
clothinþ beýore þettinþ near the
enþine or coolinþ ýans.
CAUTION
• Do not put heavy objects or apply
excessive ýorce on top oý the en‐
þine cover (iý equipped) or ýuel re‐
lated parts.
• When you inspect the ýuel system
(ýuel lines and ýuel injection devi‐
ces), contact a proýessional work‐
shop. Kia recommends to visit an
authorized Kia dealer/service part‐
ner.

• Do not drive lonþ time with the en‐
þine cover (iý equipped) removed.
• When checkinþ the enþine room,
do not þo near ýire.
Fuel, washer ýluid, etc. are ýlam‐
mable oils that may cause ýire.
• Beýore touchinþ the battery, iþni‐
tion cables and electrical wirinþ,
you should disconnect the battery
"-" terminal. You may þet an elec‐
tric shock ýrom the electric cur‐
rent.
• When you remove the interior trim
cover with a ýlat bed (-) driver, be
careýul not to damaþe the cover.
• Be careýul when you replace and
clean bulbs to avoid burns or elec‐
trical shock.
