Sequence Parameters Window

The only page in the Sequence Parameters window containing SIPS

controls is the Options page.

This page includes an error action drop down list, On flame/vapor

overrange in the Smart rinse in the Overrange group, which allows

you to select the action to occur when a SIPS Smart rinse fails.

The Flush time defines the maximum period allowed for Smart rinse

is 30 seconds. If, at the end of this period, the absorbance reading is

still greater than the minimum reading value, the message "Unable to

achieve blank reading" appears and the error action selected in this

list is executed.

The following SIPS functions are available in the Analysis window:

Selecting Calibrate pumps from the Instrument menu in the

Analysis window starts the SIPS pump calibration procedure,

allowing you to calibrate the pumps when you are not running an

autorun. This button is only appropriate for a SIPS 20 unit (when the

Right Pump group is set to Bulk standard on the SIPS page) and will

compare the volume pumped by the two pumps when the same pump

speed is set for both. The comparison is made by measuring the

absorbance level of the same solution. You should place the inlet

tubes for both pumps into the same solution. The SIPS unit will then

automatically adjust the pump speeds to achieve the same

absorbance reading.
