5. Make sure the knobs are fully engaged with the
roll bar in the raised position. The upper hoop of
the roll bar may need to be pushed forward or
pulled rearward to get both knobs fully engaged
(see Figure 12).

Important: Always use the seat belt with the
roll bar in the operate (raised) position. Ensure
that the rear part of the seat is secured with the
seat latch.
Open the Fuel Valve
1. Slowly open the fuel valve to equalize the pressure
in the tank. The fuel valve is located on the top
end of the LPG tank. If the fuel valve is opened

too quickly, the pressure relief valve is equipped
with a back pressure check valve that will shut off
the fuel supply. If this happens, close the fuel
valve completely and wait five seconds. Slowly
open the fuel valve.
2. Rotate the fuel valve counterclockwise to turn on
the fuel. If leaks are detected, refer to the leak
information in the Inspection section in Safety.
Starting the Engine
1. Move the motion control levers out to the neutral
lock position.
2. Pull up and back on the parking brake lever to
engage the parking brake.
3. Push in on the PTO switch to the "STOP"
position.
Note: It is not necessary for the operator to be
in the seat to start the engine.
4. Place the throttle in the "SLOW" position.
5. Turn ignition switch to the "START" position.
Release the switch as soon as the engine starts.
Important: Do Not crank the engine
continuously for more than ten seconds at a
time. If the engine does not start, allow a 60
second cool-down period between starting
attempts. Failure to follow these guidelines
can burn out the starter motor.
Engaging the PTO
DANGER
The rotating blades under the mower deck are
dangerous. Blade contact can cause serious
injury or kill you.
Do Not put hands or feet under the mower or
mower deck when the blades are engaged.
