J u m p S tarting

If the battery is discharged the
engine can be started w ith jum per
cables (m inim um lead cross
section is 35 m m 2) and the (12 V)
battery o f another vehicle. Proceed
as follow s:
• Turn key to steering lock posi­
tion " 0 ".
• Run engine o f jum per vehicle at
high idle.

• First connect jum per cables to
the positive battery term inals
and then to the negative te r­
minals.
• Start engine as normal.
• A fte r the engine has started,
first remove jum per cables from
the negative battery term inals
and then from the positive
terminals.
Instructions:
A discharged battery can freeze at
approx. —10° C / + 14° F. In all
cases it m ust be thaw ed out before
jum per leads are used.
Never lean over batteries while
jum p starting, you m ight get
burned.
